Bilbao is known as the main culinary destination point of the bask country in Spain. And it is easy to see why. No matter where you are, you are only a few steps away from the next bar or café. Especially Bilbao’s Casco Viejo, the old town, is full of them. Here you can mingle with the locals and drink a beer, caña in Spanish, and eat small tapas bites known as pintxos. The Casco Viajo is also home to La Ribera Market, one of the biggest food markets in Europe. On a surface area of 10,000 square meters, over 60 merchants provide customers with products such as meat, fish and fruits.
When visiting Bilbao, you will be taken into their gastronomic scene while experiencing the warm and welcoming vibe of this city. There is no better way to get to know a place than through food!
